Case study

Respect the water

When the RNLI asked us to help develop a campaign to lower the number of men drowning each year, we hypothesised that pride and bravado were barriers to men swimming sensibly.

By applying behavioural economic thinking, we showed how to turn that competitive spirit into an advantage and helped the RNLI produce a campaign that demonstrated to men how pride and bravado could get them into trouble.
